Classic Mustang - Hood scoop

I have heard the dual hood scoops found on Mustangs such as the Mach 1 were called NASA hoods.

While reading a book on Mustangs, the author refers to scoops as a NACA hood.

Which is correct please?

Re: Hood scoop From March 3, 1915, until its incorporation into NASA on Oct. 1, 1958, the NACA provided technical advice to the aviation industry in the U.S. and carried out cutting-edge aeronautics research. The NACA was created by President Woodrow Wilson in an effort to organize American aeronautical research and "to supervise and direct the scientific study of the problems of flight, with a view to their practical solution."
