Re: [Classic Mustang] Re: new member

I started my '69 in '93, it was a rusted hulk from a scrapper who had it loaded to go over the scales. I went steady at it for a year, had floors rear quarters wheel housings, and door posts finished. I discovered a really bad patch job on drivers sail panel, got discouraged and pushed it in the corner for 3 years. I got it out for a possible sale, and started working on it. I put it on the road in '03. Now it has a fresh 351-C, T-5 speed, and is appraised at 19K. I still think of selling now and then, then I go for a ride. I think I'l be buried in it.

Paul in Seattle, WA. here. I have a 66 coup that has been on stands for 20 years........ I bought it for $500 in terrible shape. It had been hit from all sides and was a mess. It used to be a 289 2bbl, 3 speed and after deciding it was never going to be restored I have built a new wire harness, swapped in a 351W, top-loader 4 speed. I plan sub-frame connectors, disc brakes on all four wheels, one-piece tilt-up front end new fuel tank positioned behind the rear seat area, a plate to replace the trunk floor tank, and a host of other things.
I am removing everything I can to lighten the car - especially in the front (want 50/50 or 55/45 (rear heavy)) weight distribution. I have a lot of fabrication to do yet but I am back to work on it.

It may never be a Mustang - the way the factory made them but it will be a fun car for me to drive.
