good rule of thumb is 20 PSI per 1000 RPM's one thing to remember is
that Oil pressure takes horse power, about 2hp per PSI is the figure
I've read... May not seem like a big deal but in a performance
application 20 extra PSI is 40 horses... So the difference between 40
and 60 PSI at 2000 RPM's is significant. If I was running 70 PSI on a
fully broke in engine at a steady 2000 RPM's I would run a lower weight
oil, and if it was a street car I'd probably leave it at that, but if it
was more performance oriented I would consider pulling the oil pump and
blue printing it... and making sure the relief was operating correctly.
