Re: [Classic Mustang] body sealer

The proper way is to get them to fit correctly is while off the car with
filing and sanding, if they are poorly made (or your body work skills
aren't that good) and no amount of filing or sanding makes them look 99%
correct, then you need to break out the fiberglass skills and make them
look right, by adding resin to build up area's that are making the fit
so poor.

Once you're 99% there you attach them and use mud, (body filler whatever
you personally call it) to get the perfect fit and finish. Bondo is a
brand name of filler and not particularly good quality.

Forget about this silly aversion to filler, Just because some 40-50
somethings grew up hating body filler because a few hacks globbed it
onto rust buckets by the gallon to make quick sales in the 70's and 80's
-- doesn't mean it's actually worthy of the hatred.

From the perspective of the professional paint and body guy; the
amateur's aversion to body filler is just a silly bias that probably
makes their projects a lot more difficult to than they need to be -- And
the end results a lot less impressive than they might have been.

Filler is used in 99% of all great paint jobs, Just about every great
body and paint guy uses filler, Chip Foose uses filler... Surely you've
heard of him?
