Re: [Classic Mustang] ...and speaking of camshafts...

Hi guys , Here is something else to look at , Absolutly check the valve to
piston clearance , You don`t want one smacking the other !!, install cam
put gob of modelling clay on piston top , and install heads with dummy
lifter made of round bare cut to lenght , one valve set with light springs
[ enought to hold valve shut ] one each rocker , pushrod etc , crank
engine with HAND Wrench two turns , Any resistance !! ANY !! stop turning
, Mike the dent in clay , it must be more than required clearance , maybe
100 thousands or 75 if your brave , If your choice of cam is race only do
not go pass 100 thou. , Phil
