If you're going to go through the engine in another thousand miles or so then it doesn't seem practical to put in new rods and mains at this point. Even if the oil pump is worn and the pressure is lower than what you're used to seeing, unless it is dangerously low and presents a problem to the life of the engine, you might as well wait until you do the engine and replace everything at the same time. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's just a faulty sending unit but unless you feel there's a real threat, a thousand miles with a few less pounds of pressure shouldn't hurt anything as long as you drive it normally and don't go racing around or revving it up to 6500 rpm. As you said, there's no tappet noise or anything and if your car had just an oil light instead of a gauge you'd never even know the pressure was down.
