Mike, many years ago I was an Assistant Service Manager for a few Ford dealers. When customers would come in and needed ball joints, I would always try and sell the entire arm, upper or lower. My logic was that the arm had been there for quite a few years, and could be slightly bent, or the other end bushings could be worn. They would also obviously need an alignment also. That customer may be back in a relative short time to have the bushing that taken care of, and need an alignment again so why not do it all at one time. If it were my car, I would replace the entire arm. Phil

Subject: [Classic Mustang] Ball Joint Question
My '71 Grande could use some new ball joints.
I plan to install a new lower control arm rather
than just a ball joint. There are two options I
am looking at with one being around $100 and the
other around $200 for both sides. The car is a daily
driver and never really driven that hard. Is it worth
the extra money? My guess is yes but I could be wrong.
