[Classic Mustang] lubing speedo cable

OK, my feeble mind's gone blank. I'm pulling the speedo cable out of my
'71 Mach so I can put a new firewall grommet in (tired of getting engine
smells into the cockpit from my old, trashed grommet). While it's out, I
want to lube it, since my speedo needle wavers from 5-10mph on
occasion. What's the best lube? Graphite or white lithium?
