I would just like to add, if performing the jumper wire test (Positive battery ternimal to positive coil terminal) I mentioned in an earlier post no factory wires should be connected to the positive coil terminal just in case there's a problem with either the ignition switch or the wiring. I forgot to add (if applicable) to also diconnect any wires to the negative side of the coil except the wire going to the distributor. It is possible, if a tachometer is attached to the negative side of the coil, and the tach has somehow shorted out or gone bad, it could cause a no spark condition.
