Re: [Classic Mustang] Disc brake conversion

I did scarebird (www.scarebird.com) on my 67 (for front disc). The
directions aren't on the website, and the ones they send you aren't as
thorough as they should be. But, I got it to work, and it's probably
easier/cheaper than scavenging from junkyard (not many granadas down
here anymore). You'll have to flare some lines, do something about
proportioning/mc (I do not recommend using the $50 summit brand valve
from summit racing....leaks at the valve between the valve body and
the provided flare nut adapters), get your hubs machined, and grind
their brackets down in a couple places. If I had it to do over again,
I would just replace all my brake lines. Stock wheels with 3 inch
backspacing are suppose to fit, I had the wheels with more than 3 inch
(3.75 or 3.25 I forget) and they didn't fit (the guy at scarebird did
not warn me of this, nor do the instructions warn you). Which forced
me to buy new wheels. But, I have disc brakes and 4 bolt on front and
back, so I can rotate my tires and easily buy replacement parts from
any auto parts store.

When you say axle, makes me think you may want 4 wheel disc brakes.
To my knowledge, the only easy semi-"bolt on" axle with disc brakes
was off the lincoln versailles.... good luck finding that, or
replacement parts :)
