RE: [Classic Mustang] 1969-70 Trunk Lid Prop Rod

The prop rod was put on for cars that had the rear deck lid spoiler.  I am not aware of it being there on a 69, but was on a 70.  They are essentially the same car.  There aren't torsion rods on a 69 or 70 decklid, they were tightly wound "coil" springs.  If anyone wants a picture of where they are located, let me know and I will send them.  Phil

All I'm telling you is the history, since I don't have a 69 or 70 fastback
with which to experiment. Ford did in fact put a prop rod on 69/70
fastbacks. They wouldn't have done so had it not been necessary.
