Re: [Classic Mustang] 1969-70 Trunk Lid Prop Rod

Ray -

The 69/70 fastback cars ended up with a prop rod 'cause the torsion bars
weren't strong enough to hold the trunk lid open. In fact, I'm not
entirely certain that early '69 cars had the prop rod (i.e., it may have
been added by Ford after some customer complaints). The 71-73 cars have a
stronger setup (although my '71 Mach's trunk lid is susceptible to crashing
down with only a little encouragement) and so didn't need the prop rod, as
do the pre-69's.
