[Classic Mustang] Re: Two questions, carb, and paint removal

The 4100 is a different carburetor than the 4300 which was available on 68 and later Fords.  The 4100 is actually supposed to be a better carb than the 4300.  But both of them only flow about 480-500 CFM.  For a 347 stroker, I agree with the others that you should go with a 600-650 CFM carb.  I prefer mechanical secondaries but vacuum are OK too.  I'm not sure of shop manual sources as I'm focused on the 68 I have.  Mixed review on having the carb rebuilt by pony carbs.  Some have had good success...others not.   I would suggest going to your local speed shop and asking them what would work on your 347 and consider getting both intake and carb that would match your application better than a 4000 series Autolite carb.   FWIW....
