In all honesty,
- I'd race Baja in a Corvair before a Mustang.
- With stock suspension, the Mustang is a little bit of a boat
- With stock suspension, the Mustang is a little bit of a boat
- A (top-of-the-line) turbocharged Corvair probably was about as fast as a 2-barrel 289.
On the otherhand
- The Mustang was successfull on the race track
- The Mustang is closer to 50/50 weight distribution than the Corvair- With performance suspension, the Mustang handles great.
- The HiPo 289 was one of the fastest production cars at the time.
- The Mustang creamed the Corvair in the market

That is quite the find! And to learn that I only have a 'sporty looking' car, rather than a 'true sports car.' I'm bummed. Anyone wanna trade their convertible Corsa for convertible pony? :-o)
Remind me, how many Corvair's won at Le Mans? Won a Gran Prix? So many races... so few Corvairs.
ROTFL!
