Re: [Classic Mustang] Anyone used Mustang Steve's or Vintage Venom late model Disc Brake conversion?

The '10  has 19" Hailbrands-a-likes.  Plenty of clearance there.

Subject: [Classic Mustang] Anyone used Mustang Steve's or Vintage Venom late model Disc Brake conversion?

Curious about how the install went, I've got a full set of Cobra rotors
in my parts collection, seriously considering upgrading from the drums
on all corners to at least the front discs. Steve's kit (seen in Mustang
Monthly, also pretty much identical to Vintage Venom's kit also featured
in MM recently) if you don't know pretty much replaces the stock drums
front and/or rear without fooling with spindles. To me it seems like a
better way all around as the Granada spindle swap will cost about the
same but require more work, and end up with less effective brake
calipers and smaller rotors.

Having owned an 01 Cobra I can attest that the brakes are outstanding
for factory street car.

Anyone played with either kit?

I already run late model wheels (the 16" 2005 V6 Halibrand-a-likes) I
know they wont clear Cobra Calipers without some clearancing of the
caliper but I would considering going to the 12.5" GT setup that Steve
sells, and seeing if I can make that fit the 16" wheels, if not then I
just get some late model 17" Bullits and call it good. (I wish they had
made the V6 Halibrand clone in a 17" option, as I think they look
fantastic on an early Mustang, small picture attached for the curious)
