[Classic Mustang] Re:6 Cyl. Intake Manifold Rear Freeze Plug

The rubber freeze plug is a good idea. When the right rear freeze plug
in the head of my 65 289 started leaking, I managed to pry it out by
punching the hole larger and prying it out with a long taper punch (it
didn't fall out). I pressed a new plug in by drilling a piece of 1/4"
thick steel with two holes spaced the same distance apart as the two
pre-threaded holes on either side of the freeze plug and using two
bolts. I placed the plug in position, place the plate over the plug
and press it into place by alternately tightening first one then the
other of the bolts. Worked well and I've kept the drilled plate and
the bolts for about 15 years...just in case.

Good luck with your project,
