[Classic Mustang] Re: need fluid opinions...not motor oil

I am no expert, but I recently completed my first rearend ring and
pinion swap.

The howling may indicate wear in your rearend requiring ring and
pinion clearance adjustment, or bearing failure. It might be worth it
($$$) to at least inspect your rear end for:

improper clearance
worn bearings
low fluid

to avoid a catastrophic failure.

recomend using just the 80w90 gear oil for the rear end (if your rear
end is not leaking synthetic is also a good choice). I am not sure
about the transmission since you didnt mention which transmission it is.
