disconnect the heat/air control lines (Bowden cables) from the heater box (mark them with
tape tabs so you know which goes where) and pull the heater box from INSIDE the car and
then open that box to get to the core. You can get a replacement core and a heater box
rebuild kit from CJ Pony Parts or any other big pony parts house. Replacing all the seals
and lubing the lines and mechanisms is a good idea while you have it apart. Put some
towels down on the front passenger floor to catch any coolant that WILL drip out when you
pull the box. Most your work will be under the dash, not under the hood.
