[Classic Mustang] Re: 65 mustang speed issue...

well im going to get a tune up done... and I will talk to the people
around there to see what they think about the speed issue they are
buddies of mine so if they see something they can fix they dont up
the price. I got a call that the vac mod was in so I picked it up
swapped out the old for the new... made a little difference but not
much... went out and drove the car got up to 60 then the winding
started... and I started to question if it was the rear end or
something... so I did something that probably isnt tooo wise but when
going the top speed put it into neutral with my foot off the gas and
then it was quiet in neutral without having to spin any gear in the
tranny. so after a tune up I will call places for rebuild or trans
swap options. my friends dad does rebuilds for about 800 bucks but he
will put in a hurst shifter kit and hi-stall torq converter a bunch
of things that he says will help with performance. but it does seem
quite evident the tranny is messed up. when I was under the car
putting in the vac mod I noticed that where the tranny meets the
engine the flex plate is there and the inspection plate is there but
there is piece missing on there so i can see the flywheel is that
normal? sorry for the lengthy reads im just trying to get all the
stuff done on this car to get to some car shows.
