Re: [Classic Mustang] Re: Ding protection

Unfortunately there are those with complete disregard & disrespect for others property whether it be a rod, classic, or daily driver. If it's not theirs why should they respect it.

Hopefully this is not where this great country is headed.

Park carefully & respect others.  Maybe they will do the same.

Subject: [Classic Mustang] Re: Ding protection

A guy I worked with had a fully restored Triumph TR6 that he parked out in a lot by itself.  When he came out someone had parked next to him and opened their door and put a dent and scratch in his door.  He waited for them to show up but he had to leave.  He thinks they did it on purpose because there was no reason for someone to park where he was with no other cars and plenty of spaces around.  When I had my 29 Ford street rod, which isn't a wide car, I parked at the end spot next to a grass island and hugged the curb.  I came out and some bozo in an Explorer pulled in next to me with the tires on the line.  I went around and looked, and sure enough, there was a nice white scar on my door and on the edge of it was my beautiful emerald jewel pearl 1990 silver anniversary Mustang paint.  I too waited for the owner to show up to no avail.  So there is no guarantee that you can protect your car short of having someone stand guard next to it...or carry a 10D nail and return the favor before you drive off.
