I’ve got a similar story. My Daddy worked at a local garage in town. He said one day about 3 Mexicans came into the shop and wanted the oil changed on a car. Daddy was asked to do the job, and pulled the car into his stall which was right outside his door. When he cranked it, he said it sounded awful so he hurried to get it on the rack and turn it off. When he started to take the oil filter off, he got a big surprise. They had tried to change the oil themselves and couldn’t get the filter off. There was nothing left but the threads almost. Daddy said he liked to have never got the rest of it loose. They drove the car to the shop with no oil or filter at all!!! He said he put a new filter and oil in it and they were happy. He has some stories that amaze me sometimes at how little people know about something they use every day.

Found this in another Mustang Forum. Sad, but hilarious.
I'm done with this car!

My car was idling like crap the other day so I figured since I just
got it, it may have been awhile since anyone changed the oil out. I
decided to go ahead and change the oil. I used
oil like I was reccomended on here. Anyways, I drain out the oil and
noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining,
it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make
sure all the bad stuff got out. I hooked up the hose, ran water
through the engine, started it up and was waiting for the water to
come out clean (The engine never went above idle so I was told this
would be ok). Anyways, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts
shaking and shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged
it up, added the oil and figured I was ready to go. WRONG! The car
won't freaking start now. This car has been nothing but trouble for
me, I think I am done with it.
