[Classic Mustang] Edelbrock 1406 Vs. Autolite 2V

Hello Everyone,

I recently acquired a 1967 mustang with a 289 and an Autolite 2V carb.
The engine and carb are both rebuilt and it runs fine. I checked the
marking on the carb and it says .98 which corresponds to 190 CFM if i
am not mistaken. My question is would I get better fuel economy if I
used a new edelbrock 1406 carb instead of this rebuilt autolite? Also,
i noticed that the choke does not have the metal line that goes to the
exhaust manifold. I was told that if it's not connected, the choke
wont' work and the car would use up more gas. Where could I get the
tubing and connector to attach it? Let me know. I intend to use this
car as a daily driver.

Thanks in advance.
