Re: [Classic Mustang] Replacing 66' Coil springs, HD or Stock?

Hi Terry,
I found matching the springs to your car's specific configuration very important.  Engine size, power steering, A/C, etc all change the front end weight.  The set of heavy-duty springs I worked carefully with the vendor to select for my '67 coupe, wound up raising the front end.  This made proper alignment impossible.  This may cause handling problems and excessive tire wear.  Changing out the springs 2,3 times to get it right is a pain.  The shop manual has good detail on the proper procedure and measurements for setting up the front end.  I hope this helps.

I'm getting ready to rebuild the front end on my 66' 6 cylinder coupe.
I'm wondering if going with the HD V8 coil springs would be a bad
choice. I'm replacing the rear leafs too and am using the HD set for
the rear. I'm looking for someone who can tell me what difference I
would see, one over the other, in ride, height, control..etc

Thanks
Terry
