John, thanks for the pix.  My car was built 7/13/64 in Dearborn, and the tube and covers look like that except different colors.  Any other pix of the car available?  Phil

I also will jump in, I have a 64.5 D code that was builit July 31 1964 and it has a down draft tube set up and was built at Dearborn. I've included a picture that also shows the Vin on the L.H Fender.

I will jump in here and state that at least one 65 289 2V was
produced with the valve cover oil fill, road draft tube and no PCV
valve. It was built Jan 65, I bought it new and still have it...and
it still has the road draft tube.
