Re: [Classic Mustang] Parking brake handle

I wasn't quite as lucky as you were Mitch. After I cut the plastic off with a Dremel tool as you did, the inner metal sleeve which was part of the old handle remained on the ratchet. I had to heat it red hot with a propane torch to get it off. Before I installed the replacement handle (1965 model. I don't know if later years were different) I drilled a small hole so if I should ever need to replace the handle again I can push the pin out. I smoothed out the ratchet end and applied a very light coating of white grease in the hopes the new metal sleeve won't stick the way the first one did.
