Re: [Classic Mustang] fuel Cell info needed

Although I don't have their catalogs in front of me I would think places like Summit Racing or Jegs should carry them. My friend with the Falcon bought his at a local speed shop so I would imagine you could get information there also. I know Moon Equipment (the late Dean Moon) has been making them for decades and you can probably get more information cruising around the web. However, if you do an Internet search type in "fuel block" because "fuel cell" brings up pages on modern fuel cell technology which has nothing to do with what you are looking for.
I'm going to go out on a limb and talk about something where I have little knowledge but there is one aspect I believe you would be wise to look into. While researching ethanol on the web I found many marine shops were advising boat owners to replace their fiberglass gas tanks with metal because it seems the ethanol was turning their tanks into a jelly which was not only eating away the tanks but clogging the fuel systems. Some of us have already experienced problems with ethanol in today's gas in the form of leaks and deterioration of plastic and neoprene parts. I have no reason to suspect that information is inaccurate so when looking at fuel cells I would lean towards one made from aluminum rather than fiberglass. A solid aluminum fuel block would also fare better in the event of a crash. Let us know what you find out.
