May '64 would be an "E" car. Mine is 07 E. The side view mirror issue is an interesting one. Many were dealer installed and often in different places. The mirror kit came with a template for the door just past the vent window. I have seen several '64 1/2 cars with outside mirrors mounted on the front fenders as was the style in the late '50s and early '60s.The radio antennas were also dealer installed and came in the trunk when a radio was ordered from the factory.
The Mustang did boast a fairly long list of standard features for its time including full carpet, sunvisors and full wheel covers. These were options on many cars of the time. I believe the heater may have been standard as well with a credit delete option.
