[Classic Mustang] Re:Carb - 570 or 670 cfm?

A 570 CFM carb will give you more torque because the velocity through the smaller barrels is at a higher rate of speed at lower RPM than a larger carb.   A large carb will give you more HP at high RPM because it can flow more air.  Also, unless you are running an open high-flow air intake system, and a free-flowing exhaust (headers, 2.5" pipes, etc.)  the larger carb won't do much for you.  Be sure you can get a jet kit with several different sizes.  Each engine is different (compression, cam, etc.) and jetting can make the difference between a mediocre running engine and economy and one that runs strong and gets good MPG.

Let us know how you make out.

Dennis
