so bad, that the flywheel wore an 1/16th off the face of the
starter...
When we pulled it down to replace the clutch assembly, we noticed
a "clean strip" on the front side of the flywheel which got us
looking for where it was hitting. No knock, whine or any other
strange noises, so must have happened just before I bought the truck
(two weeks prior to this)
After pulling it down, noticed evidence of spun bearings along with
excessive crank wear. Opted to just get a crate motor versus
rebuilding. Cost ($1400) was the same and I got a warrenty.
