Re: [Classic Mustang] i6 rear end help

According to Rockauto.com, the 200 and 289 both use the same front and rear u-joints.  It has been a while, but I believe that the drive shaft is the same length between the two motors.  If so, swap and go.  I did the same on a 65 (a LONG time ago), do not recall much other than a swap of the rear axle. 

 

AutoZone also shows the same u-joint for the front of both.  There is no listing for the rear.......

I have a 67 mustang with the 200 i6 and 3 speed manual transmission.
I am converting the front to disc brakes, and moving from 4 lug to 5
lug. I also want to move the rear to 5 lug. So I am swapping out my
7.25 for an 8 inch. my question is this...what will I have to do
about my drive shaft? Will my existing work, or what modifications
will I have to make? Any tips or advice is welcome. I have found
lots of info doing this for a i6 to v8 swap, but I plan to keep the
i6 and 3 speed...and I haven't found much info on doing that.
