Classic Mustang, Timing on a 70 w/302

Finally getting the motor to a point of thinking about starting it. Just noticed there is no way to see the timming marks on the harmonic ballencer??????? My 69 you look on the left(drivers) side. On the 70 the water pump lower radiator connection is in the way.

----

Try it on a Cleveland sometime......the timing mark requires a contortionist to access...

-----

an early 289 had the water pump inlet on the passenger side and the timing marks on the driver side my 67, or so, the water pump inlet was changed to the driver side and the timing marks on the passenger side. Sound like you have the wrong harmonic balancer for your engine (water pump).
-----
... or just get a timing tape and stick it on the balancer offset 90 degrees or
so... where you can see it at TDC
